2018 Salt Lake City Open

Note: If you do not have a USATT rating yet, you can use the rating you get from this tournament at the 2018 US Nationals in Las Vegas July 2-7, 2018! Also, a coach or club admin can estimate your rating for this tournament if you don’t have one! What a great opportunity for unrated players at this tournament!!!

PLEASE READ THIS, IMPORTANT SERVICE RULES SUMMARIZED:
Ball needs to be tossed 6 inches high AFTER the ball leaves your hand. Ball must be above table surface AND outside the table surface during the entire service motion. Ball must be tossed in open palm and not on fingers. Ball cannot be projected at a steep angle (usually 45 degrees is the limit). Opponent must be able to see the ball during the entire service motion, based on where the opponent is standing. This means you cannot use your head, belly, shoulders, arm and other body parts to block the view of the ball from the opponent. If you see your opponent not following these rules, PLEASE ASK FOR AN UMPIRE! Umpire can fault (give away a point) a player when it is CLEAR that the player is not serving legally. A warning will be given only when the umpire is NOT SURE if the serve is legal. Some umpires are nice and they give a warning even when the serve is clearly illegal, but they are not supposed to do that. Just wanted to give everyone a fair warning, and don’t be shocked to see this at the US Nationals if you are going there… If you need to work on your serves, the good news is that there is still time 🙂

Tournament Dates:
June 2nd/3rd (Saturday/Sunday)

2-Star USATT Sanctioned Tournament
Prize Money – $1,000 (increase from last year!)
Custom-Made Table Tennis Crystal Trophies for 1st Place for each event, except Doubles events.
Custom-Made Table Tennis Crystal Medals for second place for each event, and for both Semifinalists for each event.
Great facility with a lot of history!
