Coaches

How It Works

All private lessons are scheduled through the coach.

  1. Choose the coach that best fits your needs. Don’t know which coach to contact? Call us at 801-899-9144 or email us at tabletennisutah@gmail.com and we can help you pick the coach best suited for you.
  2. Contact the coach and schedule a lesson.
  3. Meet at Salt Lake City Table Tennis for your lesson.
  4. Pay your coach for the great lesson.

Lesson Fees are paid to the coach plus a $15hr table/equipment fee (non-members will also be required to purchase a $10 lessons entry pass, good for all lesson for the day or a $15 day pass, good for lessons, open play and round robin events for the day). In most cases payment is cash only than will be paid to the coach.

Meet Our Coaches

Wesley Guan
Wesley served as Assistant Coach in the Japanese Women’s Super League in 2011 and achieved many impressive track records, including two National Collegiate Table Tennis team bronze medals and numerous regional tournament victories during his undergraduate studies at UC Davis.
With 20 years of professional table tennis experience and 10 years of coaching expertise, Wesley is well-equipped to mentor players of all levels, from beginners to USA team athletes. Most notably, he has been appointed as the Paralympics coach for TEAM USA in preparation for the upcoming Paralympic Games in August 2024 in Paris, France.

Ruslan Riabokoniev

Ruslan started professional Table Tennis training at age of 7 in USSR and played for USSR and Ukraine national teams over 10 years. Have been awarded in many competitions. Ruslan has been teaching private lessons for years and currently active in competitions.

Tom Maddux

Tom has been a USATT Certified Club Coach 20 years. He was the tournament Logistics/ Vice Chairman of the USATT Sanctioned “Missouri Open All-star Table Tennis Championships” (1995)
Tom assisted in running multiple years: Missouri Show-Me State Games / Missouri State Team Championships / Missouri Senior State Games

Diana Phung

Diana is a USA Table Tennis certified coach and 3X National Collegiate Champion. She trains under a former world champion and USA Olympian in California and coaches her students in Utah.
